Bobbi Brown Crushed Oil-Infused Gloss

[samples] It’s the time of year for sneaky peeks at what’s launching next year, so I’m starting with the Bobbi Brown Crushed Oil-Infused Glosses.

Bobbi Brown Lip Oils

These hit stores and on-line at the end of January and have absolutely caught the moment of kicking matte lips into touch. Lips are going less – yesterday I posted about the gorgeous Generation G gloss from Glossier that I’ve re-ordered which is a whisp of colour in a comfort wear gloss base. The new Bobbi Brown glosses have a bit more colour but still give a level of transparency that reflects the trend for a more natural, light hit lip.

I’m a Bobbi gloss fan anyway but these have just improved on what is an already beautiful gloss formula. Kukui nut and coffee seed oils give them a conditioning element and there’s virtually no stickiness other than the light ‘grip’ needed so that you’re not re-applying every five minutes. So, even if you don’t like gloss I feel confident that you’ll like these.

They’ve got a very light scent – I can’t really identify it other than sweet – and there are 12 shades. They’re almost all suit-all colours and the natural tone of your lips dictates how they’ll look because of the translucency. In the swatch above, it’s Love Letter, Slow Jam, New Romantic and Sweet Talk. They will be £19 each. I’m hugely a fan already – they’re precisely the kind of coverage I like for myself and a perfect fit for the new lip mood.

Hopefully a return to traditional Bobbi Brown. I have struggled to find any thing that suits me in new products since the packaging turned gold.

Yes, I think they’re not sure who they’re trying to please at the moment. I don’t mind changes – in fact, I quite like to see them because it makes a brand more interesting but they need to also please the core customer.
