bareMinerals Lip Gloss-Balm

[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] It’s always a happy day when lip gloss arrives! I’ve been a fan of bareMinerals glosses for as long as they’ve been making them – they just understand something about colour that marks the products out as rather special. I’m also a user of bareMinerals Complexion Rescue Base which was my daily go-to. It’s interesting to see how much this barely there base has been emulated – I never thought I’d be persuaded away from CR but I’ve been trying other things more readily recently.

As the name might suggest, this balm is a hybrid. I’d suggest that it’s more gloss than balm but it’s got all the softness and conditioning elements of a balm with the familiar brightening glass of a gloss. There’s a sort of berry-ish scent to them that isn’t unpleasant and it’s an instant comfort fit – there is no wondering if you’ve stayed within the lip lines because the doe’s foot is angled to perfection so it’s one of those wonderous lip products you can safely use without a mirror. In the picture above from left to right is Adventure (a surprise favourite of burned toffee with pearl), Serenity (milky pink), Love (mauve toned pink).

In the forefront in this picture is Zen (raspberry) and Vision (baby pink). The fruitiness comes from sustainably sourced cold-pressed fruits. Used over a longer period you’d expect to see smoother lips (after about a week or so) and in terms of last, I find it quite good in that it doesn’t wander and the lack of stickiness makes you not so inclined to mwah your lips all the time.

There are 15 shades to pick from but in the swatch above from bottom to top, it’s Adventure, Serenity, Love, Zen and Vision. They’re £20 each HERE, non-affiliate HERE.

Ooooh so can we have a round up of your barely there bases please…this would be so exciting. I’ve had BMCR for years but fell out of love with it recently. I was gutted so I’d love to hear of your other favourites. ❤️

that’s a good idea – I might do an IGTV on that if you are on IG?

How do they compare to the Lisa Eldridge glosses of dreams?

    1. Jane Cunningham

There is a comparison in that they both have that softness on the lip – I think Lisa’s has a little less shine and the applicator is different.
