[productsample] I was a guest at the Indie Beauty Expo on Wednesday, now in it’s second London year. It’s basically a gathering of new and independent brands, giving them a chance to showcase to a new market. Those who attend are a mix of retailers, buyers and press/bloggers.
The bulk of what was there mainly comprised skin care as you’d imagine as well as lots of CBD products, lots of mooncups (although how that translates to beauty, I’m not sure) and hair care. There were a few make up brands there, but this is the one that really caught my eye. All Tigers is a French brand that donates a small percentage of turnover to the Poh Kao Association in Rajasthan which supports protection initiatives for wild tigers. The collection is fully vegan and made with up to 100% natural ingredients. This slightly depends upon the colours and organic is the preferred first choice for everything although again, it’s down to whether the right things are available for the formulas. As you will know, natural and organic is complicated and when it comes to make up, it’s often a bit dull and worthy. I like this for its fierceness, for taking the tiger as its emblem and for making a thoroughly good, if small, range.
My tester is the Liquid Lipstick (matte) in Call Me Queen. As you can see, the swatch is seamless – a beautiful, high pigment streak of scarlet in one swipe. On my lips (blimey, it’s very red!) it’s a silky comfortable wear although I’d advise a brush application because even one tiny slip over the lip border is hard to correct because of the pigment and a light stain element. This is such a ravishing, wintery red – bold, bright and just perfect with chunky knits on a chilly day. I like how the brand gives a brief breakdown of each product – in this case, ‘vegan, 82% natural ingredients, 35% organic ingredients’, as well as full ingredient listings so you’re really clear about how the formula pans out. There are 12 shades, costing EU22.80 HERE.
