Only a couple of days to go before the launch of the Sleek MakeUp Power Plump Lipsticks. It’s very unusual, because I like Sleek as a general rule, but I didn’t get along with these at all. The plumping element seems to be all tingle and no action – I really didn’t see anything of a plump but instead just had rather stinging, minty lips! I guess it’s all down to how sensitive your lips are – the sensation lasts a fair while and if you don’t like the feel of it, then you’re a bit stuck.
The colour saturation isn’t what I expected either – it’s quite light and while that suits me very nicely, if you like a very full on power lip, it’s not that easy to achieve with these. And, oh dear, sorry Sleek, I didn’t find them moisturising at all – the opposite in fact. I think I have to accept that the Sleek MakeUp Power Plump Lipsticks are just not right for me. In the swatch, shades are: Notorious Nude, Power Pink, Raving Rouge, Fully Fuschia, Berry Burst and Colossal Coral.
On the plus, they’re super easy to use – a quick slick and you’re done, and if you like a satin, rather than a matte, that box is ticked. I think in this instance, if you can try before you buy, I’d recommend that – my last venture with something quite so ‘tingly’ was Lip Venom and I didn’t like that either!
