Timothy Dunn London Votive Collection

I think this year has been the best for beautiful candles that I’ve ever known – we’ve taken a long time to adopt the concept of candles to fragrance our homes (what? burn my money? no thank you!) but the choice is ever expanding. The Timothy Dunn London Votive Collection is winter-without-shouting-Christmas so avoids the oddness of burning gingerbread and spice in February long after the tree is gone. Instead, the set comprises three of the brand’s best selling fragranced candles (Violette de Lune is easily my favourite).

With a depth of fragrance that you’d hope for after paying £60, these do feel rather special. Violette de Lune is a blend of neroli and wild jasmine, Arabian Fig is wild fig and cashmere wood and award winning Samarkand is suede musk and patchouli and is the only one that to my nose has a touch of Christmas to it. Each votive has a 15-20 hour burn time (although that’s too much of a wild variant for my liking – is it 15 hours or is it 20 because I don’t know how you’d scrape an extra five hours out of a small candle). I think if you like deep, embracing fragrances for your home and like seasonal representatives that aren’t obvious, you won’t go wrong with these. You can find them HERE.
