[productsample] This candle has been my evening companion during the torrential rain – I had thought perhaps it would be a vestiges-of-summer type scent but in fact, it’s comforting and soothing.

Floris Jasmine & Musk Candle

I love the scent of jasmine and am lucky to have an established jasmine plant that runs around the outside of my kitchen – in the evening we can open the windows and let the scent flood into the house. This year it came and went so quickly despite me watering it. This candle isn’t the same as that in-your-face blast that you get from a jasmine at its peak in summer – it’s far more rounded and gentle and takes a little time to get started and takes its note inspiration from winter jasmine, which is far less potent.

Floris Jasmine & Musk Candle

This candle is part of a new launch from Floris (and launches shortly so it’s not yet in stores) and includes reed diffusers and candles in Ginger & Sandalwood and Oud & Cashmere. They’re different (and more expensive) than the current offerings which are £40 (these will be £60) but have more of a premium feel to them. I like a lid with a candle although there’s no real need for one when a quick puff of air will do the same job but you can re-purpose it because most candles are this standard size. This candle should be up for consideration when you just need a reflective and peaceful atmosphere – something to stroke the senses I guess.
