Cartier CARAT

Since I absolutely loathed Cartier Panthere I did have some trepidation over testing CARAT. Thankfully, it couldn’t be more different to my olfactory bete noir – CARAT is absolutely beautiful. It’s a light, sparkling, lily-of-the-valley, snow-droppy kind of affair – utterly lovely if you like a luminous and mood lifting fragrance.

Cartier CARAT

It’s interesting that perfumer, Mathilde Laurent, tried to make the imagined scent of a diamond and before I even knew that the words that were springing to mind were light, sparkling and luminous. I’m sort of blown away by this because I promise I didn’t know that was the inspiration for the perfume. She apparently used seven flower notes to create a new floral note to work around the brightness – they’re fresh and spring-like – and looking in fragrance formats, everyone is getting different, but along the same lines, notes. If you can possibly have a spritz, you should. Lovely. Feel Unique has it with a random 16% off making it £43 instead of £52 HERE. I kind of hope they’ll do something about the dull as hell box which just doesn’t reflect the fragrance at all.
