AllSaints Fragrance Collection

It’s not unexpected that AllSaints has brought out a fragrance collection – perfume is the cash cow that keeps many a fashion brand afloat – but I am surprised at just how good it is. After all, Mango and Zara knock out all sorts of nonsense, so it’s never a given that just because it’s a fashion brand you like or aspire to that their fragrance arm will be the same.  It’s such a perfect fit with the AllSaints aesthetic in look and concept so I am sure it will fly out.

All Saints Fragrance Collection

I wander into AllSaints frequently – I’m beguiled by the leather and pared back colour palette which, in theory, should be right up my street. But, I think I perhaps own only one item because somehow the shapes are never quite right for me. I do lust after an AllSaints leather jacket I have to admit but I’m too mean to make the spend, but one thing I do notice is that the clothes are a definite mix of hard and soft. Leather and denim sit by silks and plush woollens – the fragrance reflects that opposites attracting kind of thing by pulling notes and concepts that are opposite but complementary.

There are three fragrances (to start with… many more to come) and I have Metal Wave here (metal and water – opposites!) and the other two are Sunset Riot and Incense City. Metal Wave started off much more sweetly than the name would suggest and the surprise note is Juniper berry (which I would never guess) blended with magnolia and papyrus wood. I don’t think that’s the full story but it’s all the information I have – I feel like there are many more notes playing about here – in one smell it’s metallic, musky and woody and in another its sweet and floral. I think you’re getting some pretty damn good fragrance for £49 (HERE). Also, the sale is still on – just saying.
