[productsamples] At this time of year, there’s a lot of gifty type products heading my way so I’m trying to balance between not bringing Christmas too early and being mindful that some people (like me) are burning through their gift list. I’ve already got presents for my mum, dad and sister and feeling pretty smug. So, I think these hand creams from L&L are just lovely – so strong on opening impact with vibrant illustrations and cityscape inspirations.
Each design comes with an individual fragrance. Dover Street, above, is citrussy with a splash of tea and has a freshness to it that I really liked. The hand cream formula isn’t heavy but it’s enough that your hands will feel instantly more hydrated and flexible (also, I think hand cream works better than most body lotions at keeping flaky shins in check).
Palace Road, India, is a more fruity-spicy blend – pomegranate, watermelon and plum with jasmin, clove and frankincense. I don’t say you can pick these out easily individually (other than watermelon which my nose could sniff out in a snowstorm) but the finish is pleasingly rich and winterish.
My favourite is Praslin, Seychelles. Think papaya, frangipani and hibiscus and then send yourself a postcard! It’s just delicious. This brand is fairly new – founded in 2017 – (based in the UK) by partners Lillie and Chris who met at university. Lillie hails from the Seychelles, while Chris is originally from Ireland. They married in Venice and as you can tell from the collections, have roots in or have travelled to some incredible places that inspired them sufficiently to make fragrances in their honour.
Aside from hand creams, there are beautiful coloured, translucent soaps (£9), decorative candles, body wash, body cream and diffusers. Really, it’s a gorgeous, and reasonably affordable (the hand creams are £12) brand that looks more expensive than it is, so if you have teachers or colleagues to make happy, these seem to fit the bill.
