[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] Two very recent launches from Glossier – the Body Hero Exfoliating Bar and Body Hero Dry-Touch Oil. It’s a really long time since I used a dry-touch oil – they used to be everywhere so perhaps it’s time they made a come-back… whatever Glossier does get copied so it’s not unrealistic to think there might be a sudden rush of them on the store shelves.
Kicking off with the Exfoliating Soap – I love the smell of it which is a combination of orange blossom and neroli. It’s a very clean scent (ideal for a soap!) with the neroli sharpened a bit by pear, mandarin and cypress – none of which I picked out but contribute to the overall clean and fresh fragrance. Depending upon how sensitive your skin is, you’ll find the bamboo powder exfoliant gives a decent scrub without feeling scratchy and it’s not drying either. Or, at least, I didn’t find it so. Ingredients also include sunflower seed oil and aloe leaf juice but to be honest, I’m not sure quite what difference the aloe makes. It’s got a dip on one side which makes it easier to hold and all in all, it’s just a very lovely product to have if you want to up the ante on exfoliation and cleansing in one. It’s £12 HERE.
The dry oil comes with a pump that you slot into the glass bottle after you’ve taken the red lid off so that you can spritz, rather than pour, the oil. Again, the same, super-clean, orange blossom laced fragrance at a strength that will act as a body perfume. It’s lovely. It’s also very skin-softening although I didn’t find it left a skin gleam which is one of the better things about using body oil as opposed to lotions. The formula is a combination of Sunflower Seed, Grapeseed, and Oat – all nicely anti-oxidant – but it’s not on the same moisturising level as butters or balms. I wouldn’t recommend it for very dry skin but more as a finishing layer after bathing for skin that isn’t particularly troubled by dryness (although customer feedback doesn’t agree with me). You will, for sure, smell the cleanest you have ever smelled and you can slip into your silk pyjamas straight afterwards with no worries about leaving oily residue. It’s £24 HERE and a wonderful treat for the senses. Non affiliate link HERE.
