[productsamplecourtesyofCHANEL] My family are big users of shower gel – there is absolutely no way they’re getting their hands on this!

CHANEL No5 In-Shower Gel & Fresh Lotion

CHANEL No5 L’Eau is a lighter, brighter version of the original No5 – all those floral and sweetly powdery notes are still there but in a more subtle way. I’ve had the lotion on my skin overnight and I can still smell it so we are not talking about a brief blast despite the idea that perhaps it might be more fleeting.

The bottles are small (hello, holiday packing) at 100ml and the lotion is a light hydrator as the name implies. It’s more for creating a fragrance veil than deep hydration although it made my skin feel silky and smooth. The same applies to the In-Shower Gel – it’s a fragrance experience rather than a utilitarian cleanser although of course, it does cleanse the skin. I mean what can I say? I’m biased – it’s my favourite CHANEL fragrance and I can’t think of a better way to start the day than wafts of rose, jasmine and lemon in my shower.

The launch date is tomorrow (3rd May) and the Lotion is £44, the Shower Gel, £35.
