MAC Advent Calendar 2023

[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] I have three more advent calendars waiting to show you after the MAC option – Jurlique, L’Occitane and M&S (which launches on 26^th). It’s nice, I think, to be hands on with the calendars – they can vary so much in terms of quality and creativity and you’re paying for the whole package, not just the products within. MAC has had great foresight using silver which is the absolutely the colour of the moment (are you buying silver jeans? I’m so tempted but probably will shelve the idea once I’ve tried a pair on!).

We’ve also got a bit of pop-up going on with the silver tree blossoming out as soon as you open the calendar. Unlike more or less all the others, the MAC Advent Calendar 2023 (aka Frosted Frenzy) is one that needs to be laid flat if you want to enjoy the tree. It just looks weird the other way, but you can just as easily store it shut and just enjoy the tree when you open it. I’m appreciative of the size – it’s not a monster that dominates the room (looking at you, SpaceNK) so will tuck away nicely and it contains lots of lovely make up and skin care goodies.

Moving on to the contents (I’ll put full contents at the end), there’s a £487 value for £170 and if you’re a MAC fan, it will be absolute bliss. There are 21 full size products with the travel sizes being skin care. I’m a fan of MAC Serumizer and there’s a 4ml sample size included.

Looking at the colourways it seems that it veers towards neutrals and pinks – there are two Colour Excess Gel Pencil Liners in ‘Christmassy’ colours; champagne gold Ritzed and Blitzed and a glimmery silver called Sterling Silver. There are several Powder Kiss products (if you’re not a matte fan, you may have to re-home those) but an equal amount of Lustreglass and Lipglass so all finishes are covered. While the calendar focusses mainly on the lips, there are a couple of neutral eyeshadows that you’ll find very useful, and of course, the wonderful MACStack Mascara in full size.

Not for you if you are about brights and satins, definitely for you if you like to mix up your textures. The calendar is HERE with full contents listed below.
