[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] Oh hello – a woman over 50 on the front cover of this value box from a notoriously millenial focused band? Yes, you can believe your eyes because Lisa Snowdon (50) is the curator of Ciate London’s latest box and it’s a) a bargain, b) a landmark and c) well picked.
I did a video on Instagram recently saying how well peachy shades can lift your whole face – it resonated with many because it’s not such an obvious choice but a little orange on the lids changes everything! Then yesterday this collaboration arrived containing the Editor Palette in St Tropez with all the peachy permutations you could want. If you are edging your way back to palettes, this is a good place to start because it’s not seasonal – it works all year.
It’s actually a great collection – everything has a use and purpose and there’s no ‘filler’ product. The contents are Dewy Skin Vitamin C Glass Glow Primer, Triple Shot XXL Mascara, The Editor Palette in St Tropez, Dewy Stix, Glow to Blush in Perfect Match, Watermelon Setting Spray and Pump Plump in Honey Dew. The only thing I probably wouldn’t use is the setting spray but that’s personal choice. Certainly the Pump Plump gloss, the mascara and the blush could slot easily into every day.
Dewy Stick is a lovely product on its own for moderate level highlight for cheekbones. I’ve used it in the past blended with a creme blush (in the palm of my hand) to get a bit more of a light hit and it works particularly nicely with neutral toned blush to elevate it just a bit.
The mascara has a ‘good’ brush in that it’s not too fat so gets to all of the lashes and Pump Plump is almost clear on the lips but you do get a peppermint tingle. I can’t, hand on heart, say it plumped my lips but then nothing does really which for me anyway leaves it as a very pleasant lip light bringer.
In the swatch above, it’s the pink/gold Blush in Perfect Match, Pump Plump in Honey Dew and the Dewy Stick. The set has a value of £158 and is £45 HERE which is an absolute bargain in anyone’s book. To be honest, I’d take out what you want for yourself and use the rest as gifts – everything is nicely presented in boxes so it’s easily done. Needless to say, I’m really pleased to see this collaboration because Lisa (who is very nice) has chosen well for herself and by doing that has chosen well for older women who feel left out of the beauty market. It’s interesting that Ciate London has, just like every other brand, chased the Gen Z market to add to their millenial core but it looks like they’re going the other way to bring in the Gen X (me) and Boomers. Good and thank you! If you like the look of it, don’t wait – these boxes do seem to sell out quite quickly.
