Lisa Eldridge New Lipstick Shades

[unpaid/sample] 100% Yam Yam! I’ve already done an Instagram reel on these luscious new shades – I have three lipsticks in the Luxuriously Lucent (sheen) and one in the Insanely Saturated (matte) to show you but there are ten fresh new colours in total. If you want to see them in action, you can find me @britbeautyblog. Last year, Mr BBB bought me a Lisa Eldridge ring which I ‘ve worn every day since I got it and I was just saying that I wanted another when these beauties popped through my door. I feel it’s a sign ;-).  I have six months to persuade him or cave and buy my own. It’s a good time to mention that Lisa has another pop-up shop in Covent Garden – I had a blast at the last one so I will venture into central London at some point although it’s how I discovered the rings…..

In the line up from left to right: Strawberry Shock, Rosy Shell, Je Ne Sais Quis and Palazzo, the latter three being the Luxuriously Lucent formula. It’s interesting that there are 6 in the sheen and only 4 in the demi-matte – I honestly think mattes are losing their popularity.

This is the one that has stolen my heart – Rosy Shell. As soon as I put it on my lips I was happy – it’s a creamy, soft pink with a little hint of coral at the back that’s not too pale and not too strong either. It’s enlivening for the whole face and very comfortable on the lips.

I feel that Strawberry Shock (on the left) will sell out first – it’s so impactful and such a joyful colour. This formula is not called Insanely Saturated for no good reason!

In this picture, it’s Je Ne Sais Quois and Palazzo (on the right) which feel less interesting to me than the first two but once they’re on your face, it’s a different story. If you are someone who doesn’t like an obviously made up lip but needs a ‘something’ to brighten your face, Je Ne Sais Quois is it and I see exactly why it’s named as it is.

These all look gorgeous on you – it’s such a beautiful formula. I love the two I bought (Palazzo and Meet Me in Berlin) but I’m going to have to go back for Rosy Shell now. Thank you! Your reviews are always brilliant – you deserve the ring 😉

thank you Helen!!! I will show this to Mr BBB!

Oh my, these are beautiful on you. I have six or seven of Lisa’s lipsticks and thought I won’t use more. But the “Je ne sais quoi” and “Pink Shell” look bright and soft. I’ve found the mattes a little too dark and saturated for me, so I end up blotting them and putting on a little gloss. Too much work, ha ha. Lisa is a genius though. I find her colors so sharp, no muddiness. Thanks for the snaps and comments!

    1. Jane Cunningham

so welcome – yes, I am a bit shy of wearing the really bright shades especially in matte. It’s not the right texture for me.

I went to the pop up last weekend and it was wonderful (I even got to meet the lovely Lisa herself).

I’d already bought ‘Je Ne Sais Quoi’ and ‘Meet Me in Berlin’ online, but was tempted by ‘Wonder Wheel’ (a surprisingly wearable sumptuous watermelon), ‘Le Mepris’, and the insanely saturated ‘Sunday Matinee’ (so much more wearable than I thought).

I tried Rosy Shell, and thought I’d love it with my fair skin and blue eyes, but both me and the makeup artist agreed it just didn’t quite work – possibly cause my lips are very pigmented naturally.

Still, finding five new lippies to love isn’t so bad!

    1. Jane Cunningham

Five is an excellent number! Lisa is lovely – genuinely a good person.

I missed the last Pop Up due to Covid. How long is she there this time?

The lipsticks look fabulous on you! I’m trying to decide if Velvet Beauty is too similar to Sunday Matinee to justify it although it’s a lovely ‘day off’ lipstick. I am returning Atomic Cherry as it doesn’t do enough on my lips which are quite pigmented anyway. I’m also trying to decide if Velvet Morning is too similar to Strawberry Shock…

    1. Jane Cunningham

You have a lot of decisions! Not sure how long the pop up is there for but I think there is more info on Lisa’s site 🙂

    2. Leonie

It’s there till September I believe. I similarly missed the last one for medical reasons.

Strawberry Shock is much less orange than Morning in real life, if that helps.

      1. Elly Clark

Thanks! I hope you’re able to make the next one. I need to make arrangements.

Strawberry Shock is PERFECT. I absolutely love it – better for summer, while Morning is better for winter, I think.

I kept Rainbow Spill and Strawberry Shock as discovered Sunday Matinee is too similar to another pink I have. These FABULOUS colours! Thank you Lisa.

    3. Hi Elly. Not sure if you follow Lisa on Instagram but she has posted quite a few swatches now to her stories, in which she has compared some of the older colours with new similar ones, which might help you. xx Zoe

Thank you! I will have a look – I find Instagram a bit hard to navigate but will have a look. I wore Cinnabar to a court trial about which I was very nervous – and we won! I told Lisa and she commented, but I can’t find the comment anymore. Gutting!

        1. Jane Cunningham

          It’s your lucky colour!

          1. Elly Clark

I wore it remembering what Lisa had said about it being a warrior colour, Elizabeth 1, etc. and felt very empowered!

          2. Jane Cunningham

which makes it perfect then – it’s your ‘red’ 🙂

  5. Chrissie

Popping lipcolours are the best brightener uppers going in my book and don’t we all just need a few more of those right now!
Love those colours on you Jane and I’m waiting on Rosy Shell and Rainbow Spill (I think) to arrive. The other colours I bought have been not quite right for me so I am hopeful this time round. A visit to the pop up shop for sure for me, I spent ages admiring the vintage makeup last time.

Hello Mr BBB yes you should for sure buy that ring for Jane as she does such a fabulous job xxx

    1. Jane Cunningham

Let me know how you get on with Rosy Shell – I really love it. I’ll head to the pop up when I can do more than flop about hoping not to sweat into my hair too much 😉 ps: I think he will – my birthday is very near Christmas so as a double up he will be pleased not to have to think about two gifts!

  6. Jane

I bought three this weekend! My fear is that Palazzo (which is one of the three I bought) will pull too pink on me (I oxidize perfectly normal reds into hot pink nightmares), but I am super excited about Night Thoughts and Meet Me In Berlin. The Luxuriously Lucent formula is so good that I don’t think I’ve put another lipstick on since I bought Painterly a few weeks ago!

And please do a post to show the ring! I have been on the fence about getting one. I guess it’s more like I can’t make up my mind; I want the iolite one but am afraid it’ll be too dark.

    1. Jane Cunningham

I’ve got the Baby Grace cushion cut and I LOVE it. I think I want the same in Citrine. Enjoy those lippies!

    2. Yenners

I was too busy to place my order until Monday and Night Thoughts had already sold out – I so so want it. Lucky you to get to visit the pop up and to pick up Night Thoughts – super envious! I used to live in the UK but am now in Oz and don’t have the luxury of shopping in person.

  7. Arpita

You look great wearing all four shades! I ordered Palazzo and Skyscraper Rose and am looking forward to trying them.

    1. Jane Cunningham

      Hope you enjoy, Arpita!

  8. Hi Jane. Thanks as always for a great review. I jumped straight online at launch time (1am for me in Australia!) to grab Strawberry Shock, as well as Kitten Mischief, which I missed out on last time. Also wanted to say how fresh and pretty Rosy Shell looks on you. xx Zoe

    1. Jane Cunningham

      Thank you Zoe!!

  9. Emma Onslow

Hi Jane, this is an old thread sorry but i just wanted to tell you that after your recommendation I went to the Lisa Eldridge pop up and bought two lipsticks. I bought Je ne sai quoi & Kitten Mischief. They are lovely! Being Blonde & blue eyed I thought I’d suit Rosy Shell & Dance card but actually I needed more warm toned colour. It was a great experience actually going into a shop and trying with a MUA. Thanks for the recommendation. xx

    1. Jane Cunningham

Oh so glad – the MUAs are so, so good in Lisa’s pop-ups – exactly how the MUA experience should be 🙂

  10. Elly Clark

I tried Palazzo and Je Ne Sais Quoi this time around. Palazzo is lovely but for me too similar to the other Lisa reds I have to justify keeping it. Je Ne Sais Quoi is divine though – the perfect “just wearing lipstick” shade which I’ve been looking for for years. It lifts your entire face and gives you a glow without giving you the “painted maypole” look. I absolutely love it!

    1. Jane Cunningham

that’s the perfect lipstick find then – one that just brings you to life 🙂
