Okay, so in theory this is such a great idea – in practice it doesn’t live up to expectations.

And you’ll have to excuse today’s images – my camera broke this morning so until I can pick up a new one, it’s IPhone pics :-(.

So, the idea is that you coat over a corresponding colour – I’m using YSL Parme Grafitti which is a super colour on its own.

While it looks tri-phase in the bottle and the name suggests something rather more than just a shimmer top-coat, bottom line is that it IS just a shimmer top coat. It’s really pretty, don’t get me wrong, but I can help feeling a little meh about it because my expectation was high. And at £18 for each one of four shimmer top coats, that’s a little steep. It looks stunning in the bottle – it keeps catching my eye but when a make up product is better in the bottle than in use, something’s wrong.

Is that it??? Oh I’ve been dying for a swatch of these, and it just looks ordinary 🙁
I think the top coats look really good, perhaps if you check out blogger Rae’s swatches at thenotice.net (I’m not her, but she is a fellow Canadian).
Yes, I’ve seen Rae’s post – they are lovely but I still think expensive for shimmer.
Oh that’s so disappointing! I hate it when something really doesn’t live up to expectations. Still pretty though 🙂
