Wow..the good stuff just keeps on rolling in!
These Pure Chromatics quads from YSL are really special and will appeal to those who love to play with pigment. Designed to be used wet or dry, they’re perfect for subtle, satiny smoked eyes while dry or once wet, if you’re a fan of the graphic eye the texture and shades could not be more ideal as they turn to a pliable cream texture. The manufacturing method is interesting too: the colours are ‘poured’ powders as opposed to ‘pressed’, and are assembled when wet. Once the pigments dry they rehydrate very quickly and easily to give a metallic effect on the eye.
You can see from the swatch here that the intensity of colours is quite different when wet – I’ve put the colours side by side; one wet, one dry…

….So you can wet down the darker colours to line the eyes against less intense dry shades. It’s a very versatile way to use make up.
