Hmm, I think this might be my new favourite advent calendar for its rich illustration and a strong ecological message – no other advent calendar that I know uses the 24 boxes as a challenge to make your life more earth friendly.
The challenge isn’t delivered sanctimoniously – it’s more just giving an idea a day on how to green up your credentials. As you can see, it’s packed like a Chinese puzzle so it is a bit of case of ‘gingerly remove, take gift and immediately put back box’ otherwise Jenga. Unless you keep it flat, in which case, nothing to worry about.
In the first box I opened, there was a little Rose Body Scrub and the challenge of the day is to pick up some litter next time you go for a walk. Great idea – where’s the harm in packing a carrier to bin the empty bottles of Lucozade (why is it always Lucozade?) or crisp packets? It’s a neat idea that livens up a walk (take your hand wipes!).
The next box, containing a lip liner, suggests adding a plant to your workspace.. and so it goes on. Great challenges or suggestions of small things you can do to live cleaner and more conscientiously that you might not even have thought about. |
The contents are great – all useful and a good mix of make up, skin and hair. The version I’ve been sent to review is the Deluxe Advent Calendar at £65 (content value is £121) but there seems to be a £15 off a £40+ spend HERE on the site at the moment.

I’ve been eyeing up this advent calendar since it was announced! It looks great and the contents look amazing too, but urgh the price. It hurts my soul! 😛
That £15 off £40 plus sounds good though! May have to take advantage of that. 😛

I’d probably use more products from a Body Shop calendar than anything else, but it’s just doesn’t feel treaty.
Whichever calendar you get, it’s a disappointing day the day you get the inevitable nail file.
I think the eye pencil sharpener is disappointment day! Anyone else??
