SUQQU Frozen Summer 2020

[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] This is a twist on usual beauty summer fare – Suqqu has taken the hot sun shimmery concept and turned it frosty – in parts. I’ve got more eye products to get photographed so I’ll aim for the end of the week for those.

SUQQU Frozen Summer 2020

The piece that I like the most from the collection is the Shimmer Liquid Blush in Hoteaka (Cherry Pink) with a red undertone that gives the perfect ‘sakura’ cheek flush. It allows skin to show through so it’s more of a liquid tint – you don’t need much so go very lightly at first. There are four lipsticks (one escaped and I didn’t find it til after I’d shot these so there are a couple of random pictures at the end) – two in the Vibrant Rich Formula and two in the Moisture Rich Formula (they’re £30 each).

Above, left to right is: Benitsubata/Nudie Beige (it’s quite coral-y) with a demi-matte finish, Kagutsubaki/Framboise in a raspberry pink/red with twinkles of blue shimmer, and Adesango/Shimmer Coral which somewhat speaks for itself.

This is the one that got away – and my favourite! Shunuri/Vermillion Red in the Vibrant Rich formula – full of moisture and pigment without being too loud.

Liquid Blush swatches up very bright, but once it’s on the end of a fluffy brush to swirl lightly over cheeks, it’s not nearly as scary as you might think. In fact, if you just use a tiny drop that will be plenty to create a light flush, and you can build from there as you wish. It’s the easiest thing to wear because it looks very natural and gives a ‘fresh air’ sort of healthy look – bonne mine – over bare skin. It’s £24 and would be my top buy from this collection.

So you can see that the Moisture Rich formula (the first two lip swatches, Framboise and Shimmer Coral) is very light – obviously on the darker pigment of your lips it looks more giving and the Vibrant Rich (in Nudie Beige) is more powerful.

And this is the runaway, Shunuri. Selfridges has stock of everything – unusually because Suqqu often sells out within the day when a new collection launches HERE, non affiliate HERE. I’ve popped a nail wheel swatch of the polish – a gorgeous, translucent, mermaid shimmery blue called Prism Blue (£18). It’s right next to the orange shade which is Dior from yesterday.

Love the look of all the products in this range.

The frosty element really speaks to me, I find “juicy” gels and balms for summer really off putting because they make me imagine being too hot and clammy but this if some advertising I would buy in to

It’s quite juicy I have to warn you!

Ha ha ! I don’t think it’s the texture of the product that puts me
off, it’s just the advertising specifically the type where the model is impossibly tanned and has like a sea salt wet hair style and usually the hair is usually stuck to the face a bit with really shiny looking lipgloss.

I just think no If that was me I’d be too hot and grumpy.

This makes me think of being coole and serene even when it’s boiling

The one that made me laugh is the Marc Jacobs Daisy one where she is lying in a field – it just looks like she’d been knocked over…

Yes ! And there are bits of grass on her face
