Suqqu Christmas 2017 Collection

Well, this collection is a proper treat – this is a premium brand presenting a premium collection that is 100% on point for the season ahead and created by make up artist Jorge Balzaretti. There are three eye palettes and three lipsticks somehow taking into account the sunset trend, the wine stain lip trend, the deeper, smoky winter eye trend AND the metallic trend and all done so seamlessly! The first palette (above) is the Iwaiakari Palette, with pink (satin), peach (shimmery), buff (matte) and a burgundy (shimmery).

I’m telling you, that peachy colour is so eye opening and brightening – I can’t stop wearing it. It’s one of the reasons I put a peach colour – when it really wasn’t on trend at all – in my MUR palette but I have to admit, it’s not as good as this one!

Next up is the Kohakuyoi Palette with rich, smoky browns and warm metallics.

The golden bronze is a satin, the buff is matte, the deeper, bitter brown is full of twinkles while the warmer brown shade is also twinkly but less so, I think, than the deep. All of the textures across each palette are so velvety and smooth – and as you can see, not at all short on pigment!

This palette is called Hikarisango and it’s all the smooth, comforting winter smoky eye shades with a flash of orange sunset.

The champagne shade is shimmery, the orange is matte, the dark brown/grey shade is shimmery and the golden chocolate shade is satin.

If I can advise one pick from the lipsticks, it would be 107 – the wicked, blackened berry shade first in the row. It does have a name but if you put tiny grey writing on a small black box, nobody can read it.

The Extra Glow Lipsticks look quite sheer in the arm swatch but once they are on the dark of your lip, they are full pigment with a radiant sheen to them that make lips look lit. I know I sound like a press release here (I don’t actually have one by the way!) but the formula really does catch light and give lips not a gloss exactly but a moistened gleam.

I don’t have any prices or release dates but didn’t want to wait for the detail to show you these.
