Stila Water Plumping Primer

Stila Water Plumping Primer

The Stila Water Plumping Primer is one of the products that I’ve seriously been looking forward to trying out. The first time I tested it, I was full of disappointment – I just didn’t get it! Then, after testing a second and a third time, I realised that you need only the merest swipe to get the full potential of this primer. I was just putting way to much on.

It comes out of the tube as a white-ish, non-glossy gloss formula with a doe’s foot applicator. Once you’ve swiped it over your lips, it neutralises your lip colour somewhat (not completely) so that any gloss, particularly transluscent, or lipstick that goes over the top has a head start on keeping the colour you see in the tube as close as possible on the lip. It’s a hard formula to describe – it’s light as anything; no waxy feel to it (although the highly vanilla smell takes a bit of getting used to, as does the taste) and it’s got a cool feel as soon as it hits the lip. The ‘water’ evaporates (hence the cooling) and leaves behind a film (that you can’t feel as a film) that holds in hydration.

I think if you love to experiment with different formulas and textures, then you’ll love Stila Water Plumping Primer – it also did give a smoothing effect which I loved – and it has the effect of making the beautifully milky washes of gloss that Stila are so good at just that bit more milky. This has already launched – I found it on ASOS HERE for £15.

Ohhhh, I JUST bought this and had the same reaction…. and now I’m going to try it again with the merest swipe of product. This also means it’ll last a lot longer than I figured which is also great. Thanks for the tip!

This sounds so cool! Really love that it blanks your lips out a little, would be great under matte or nude lipsticks to keep the colour true!
