[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] e.l.f. is on a roll at the moment – these e.l.f. Pout Clout Lip Plumping Pens I think are their homage (cough) to Hourglass Phantom Volumizing Glossy Balms (£36 each). Now, I love the Phantoms but if I was buying them myself, I’d have one – just on a cost basis. The e.l.f. Pout Clout Lip Plumping Pens are £8 each. No, the packaging isn’t as premium and I’d say that the luxury meltingness isn’t quite there but it’s honestly good enough.

I really like the shine on these – a bit of lightfulness elevates their colours and that purply one (Plum – everyone is doing this juicy berry shade at the moment) is divine. There’s a minty element to the experience in that you feel a kind of menthol hit on the lips although I can’t say I could see any actual plumping. It fade quite quickly so presumably if there was any, that would also fade too. I’m not a fan of the push-pull energy of the cool heat you get from peppermint/menthol things – it’s distracting. Anyway, the shades in the picture above from left to right are Bust A Mauve, Plum, Pinky Clout and Just Peachy.
