Stila is on an absolute roll with these Liquid Eye Shadows that are so full of colour and glimmer. The collection is split into Shimmer & Glow which a slightly lower key version of Glitter & Glow, but to be honest, I’m not sure you’d be able to tell the difference. I’ve only got two of the Shimmer & Glows but I reviewed Glitter & Glow HERE when it first came out. Saying that, I think Shimmer is a smoother finish but still very sparkly.
The shades are Freedom (pale blue shimmer) and La Douce, a warm gold hit olive shade (that I will definitely wear!).
You can’t really pick out the shimmer in the blue shade but it’s there – I promise but not as abundant as the olive shade.
For lips, there are a couple of new Gitterati Top Coats (£18) – I have Entice which shifts pink and blue. It’s super-pretty if you like glimmer and feels like a wash of water on your lips. Because it’s so watery, I’d suggest if you’re wearing on a bare lip you put some balm on first to stop it drying your lips out. You could also use it on your lids as a sparkle topper – just put some on your finger tip or a brush and press to your lids. It’s impressive that it doesn’t drop like a lot of glitter products do (I didn’t know I was radiating blue glitter all over my face after using the holo hair spray until the delivery man looked at me oddly and I rushed to a mirror to see what was wrong..). As well as that, the Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick (£16) has shade extensions while there’s a new shimmer formula, Stay All Day Shimmer that you can see above in Beso Shimmer. The other shade is from another new variant, Stay All Day Sheer and it’s called Sheer Splendore.
So, in the swatch, it’s the Glitterati in Entice, Sheer Splendore (although what is ‘sheer’ about this, I don’t know!) and Beso Shimmer. There is a huge amount of new products (I’m thankful for the careful edit sent that means I don’t have to swatch all of them!) so if you’re already a Stila fan you’ll need to put aside a few hours to wade through them on-line or in-store. There’s a good selection on M&S HERE.
I must admit that I miss the old Stila – the gorgeous milky Lip Glazes (which I think are still around but it’s clear the brand is heading in a different direction) and all the pink stuff. Sigh.
Non Aff HERE.
