First up is the Kevin Aucoin Sensual Tinted Balm. The packaging is wow – I haven’t seen anything like it before. The front where you can see the product is soft and squidgy while the back (in black) is hard. The balm itself is packed with potassium and peptides so those ingredients (with many more besides including SPF) have the skin care element covered and the coverage is light but illuminating and perfect for summer skin. What I didn’t get so much was the ‘sensual’ element in the title.. it’s not particularly sensual or velvety – or no more so than anything else I’ve used so don’t be swayed by that. It does live up the no-weight claim though and does a nice job of evening out skin tone and I’m guessing it’s a BB by another name. It’s £36 HERE

Pure Beauty Magazine should be on every beauty blogger’s radar. It costs £30 a year to subscribe and I always love it when it pops through my letterbox. It covers all sides of the beauty industry including new launches, Product awards, Consultant awards, beauty features and expert quotes along with news for counters and stores, a round up of top beauty stories in the press and what products got the most coverage for the previous month. It’s just a very interesting way to read about beauty. What I like best though is the Pure Beauty Picks page where products have obviously been properly tried and tested. The writers manage to produce a very honest review without managing to offend anyone. They don’t love everything, but if it’s not for them, they’ll say why very clearly and suggest who it would be right for. They also feature a beauty blogger every issue in a column format so major high-fives for that! Find it HERE

It was a pretty much foregone conclusion that I would love this black Crayon Khol from By Terry – and I absolutely do. I think it is the best black khol I have ever laid hands on – the softest formula, the deepest shade and the very luxury of it puts it in a league of its own. I am convinced it lasts longer than any other I’ve tried but the waterline is so individual it is hard to truly say it will last longer on everyone. It’s £22 and worth every single penny of it.
