I’ve honestly never considered what a Selfie might smell like – surely it has to be all things to all people because selfies are so individual – but fragrancers take influence from anywhere and everywhere and if I was to really think it through, a Selfie should smell vibrant, fun, modern, exciting and interesting. I can’t match what I smell with any of those words, but if you love niche fragrance, the clever combination of so many ingredients will have you intrigued. The notes comprise:
Top notes: Elemi, Ginger, Star anise, Incense, Angelica
Middle notes: Accord of Maple syrup, Cinnamon, Lily, Cabreuva
Base notes: Accord of Suede, Styrax, Labdanum, Oakmoss, Patchouli, Tonka bean, Sandalwood
So, you can see it’s rather complex – definitely unisex and rather smoky and woody. If sweet florals are your thing, look away now! I found that Selfie Fragrance warmed to something far deeper than the original churchy beginning, and even though it’s definitely not my fragrance aesthetic, I liked it more as the day wore on. One aspect I really do like is that you can pick a favourites selfie, print it off on the Olfactive Studio website (HERE) and slot it into the fragrance label…. so it really is your Selfie. That function isn’t quite ready yet (rolls eyes) because the official launch isn’t until October (prices start at £75) but if you’re ready to discover some very intriguing scent combinations, it’s well worth a look.
