And, my secret tanner is back. She’s an expert with a bottle of bronze so she’ll be reviewing this year’s newest tans. The Secret Tanner goes fearlessly deeper and darker so you know exactly what to expect, all completely undercover to bring you a no holds barred low-down.
Packaging: Absolutely gorgeous – it’s a turquoise green, heavy glass bottle that looks like an expensive body lotion.
Gloves: Heavy duty and will last you several tan applications (unlike some other brands).
Elizabeth Arden Hyaluronic Acid Ceramide Capsules
I’d be prepared to put money down to bet that you won’t have experienced a skin care texture like this before...
Scent: Lovely – it claims to be a ‘marine’ scent but to me it was more like fresh green apples and by the next day there was no smell at all.
Texture & Colour Guide: It’s a very dark gel, but unlike other super-dark colour guides, this blends extremely well and doesn’t dry out too quickly. If you’ve missed a patch and need to go back and blend, the stain doesn’t land immediately so there is time to do that. The blendability of Kissed By Mii is the stand-out feature – so easy. The colour guide is quite yellow based which had me worried; I put so much on that my boyfriend literally gasped when I emerged in the marinade!
End Result: The exciting part was seeing the colour guide rise off and the resulting tan. I’m not sure if it’s because I only had it on for five hours but the resulting tan wasn’t quite the depth of colour I’d expected for the amount I put on. However, the result was beautifully even, a pleasant golden tan colour and no smell. My skin felt surprisingly hydrated – I almost didn’t need moisturiser.
Verdict: Without knowing the price, I already know I’d repurchase Kissed By Mii again. The streak free, toffee shaded result, plus the pretty bottle make this a strong 9/10.
Tan Skill Level: All levels.
