Bare legs in winter are in the beauty spotlight, so The Secret Tanner has been putting Vita Liberata NKD Skin Self Tan to the test to see if it can give a just-back-from-holiday look even in the depths of winter.

Texture:

It’s a mousse, but the pump didn’t work that well and when the product came out it varied in tint and amount, so it was quite an effort.

Blendability:
Not great, unfortunately! As each pump distributed a different tone of product (i.e. one pump came out super pigmented and dark, the next one like a milky latte!) it was hard to get an even tone on an area. Also I found that a mitt made the product cloy slightly. Even though I put a lot on, I didn’t feel ‘dark’ – but then this is a tinted mousse and only ‘medium’.

Scent:

Minimal. Nothing to report either way, here.

Results:
The next morning is when the product really came into it’s own. When the colour guide rinsed off in the shower I was surprised and pleased to see a very beautiful, natural golden glow. Ok, it may not be my usual desired levels of mahogany, but once I’d got over that I realised that despite my difficulties blending the colour, it was really even and lovely! And as promised, no smell!

I also noticed that my skin didn’t feel at all dry (as it does after using some tan mousse products).

Vita Liberata claim that NKD lasts seven days and it lived up to that claim. All in all I’d say they need to work on product pigmentation and pump distribution – but they have nailed the colour if you want a natural sun kissed look.

Til next time Tanners!
