Peelable Lip Tint

When I did my big Korean beauty haul, I completely forgot that this little number was the ‘peelable’ lip tint. I even complained that it went all gooey on my lips when I put another product over it! A sharp eye’d reader (thank goodness for you!) pointed out that it was the peel tint, so now I’ve used it properly I can actually report back.

So, it’s the Secret Key Chubby Jelly, designed to coat your lips initially, and after a few minutes the product dries into a peelable layer which when removed, leaves a stain on your lips. As you can see, it’s rather lurid, and while the tint it leaves behind is nothing like as neon as the jelly, it’s still quite a startling pink!

What you can see in the picture above is the peeled bit. I feel like I’ve overshared here – there has to be a million skin cells all over that!

In fact, I feel a bit squeamish about it. It did leave a light pink tint behind, but nothing dramatic. Although a Peelable Lip Tint is fun to try, there’s absolutely nothing about it that does anything better than any other lip stain. And it takes ages to dry to be prepared not to speak for some considerable time. It’s a bit of a miss, this one, but I’m glad to have tried it out.

what would they think of next? but it is not as logical for me to use this peelable one if the normal stain works just as fine

I quite like this after a sugar scrub on my lips as it seems to add moisture as well as a stain (I have the plum one though do tend to do it twice in a row to get a more intense colour) so you don’t have that dry feeling plus you can stick a clear balm or gloss over the top for a better moisturising effect and it does seem to bring the colour out more somehow. It’s not something I’d need to have but it’s fun and a bit different while leaving a good 9-12 hour stain so ideal for me when I go to lunch with people or just for a base for other lipstick/gloss on a night out if I can’t be bothered to keep topping up.

Looks like a good exfoliator for the lips. Am I the only one who’d buy it?

I quite like the idea of this and I’ve seen it before so now I am definitely thinking of giving it a try 🙂

Also feel free to check out my blog if you have some time.

  6. I would totally buy this, I’m a sucker for these types of things. I somehow hope that peeling it would give my lips that natural soft and subtle stain I always long for.

  7. I REALLY want to get my hands on one of these! They just look so cool. 😛

I’m the put-makeup-on-once-in-the-morning-and-go kind of girl and I love using peelable lip tint. I first saw peelable lip tint on YouTube and immediately went out to buy the same one in the video, it’s called “My Lip Tint Pack” by Berrisom. It is the best lip tint I have used. Let me tell you, I have used a lot of lip tints: Benetint, crayon type by Tarte and Revlon, YSL glossy lip stain, and the marker type which always dries out way too fast. None of the lip tint products I just mentioned lasts as long as the peelable one I used. I have “sexy red” for a wash of cherry red and “candy orange” for when I want to feel girly, there is also a purple one I kinda want to try…

    My tips:
    1. Use a brush to help you apply an even thin to medium layer (I like using the ones that came with my Latisse)
    2. If your lips get dry, slap on lip balm, the stain won’t go away or smudge
