OPI Spotted Nail Effect Polish

For some unknown reason, OPI Spotted isn’t available in the UK. I suspect it may have a non-approved ingredient in it, but the truth is, I don’t actually know. However, it’s a super nail effect – this is not my best manicure as I’ve smudged the black slightly, but you can see from the pictures that I started on the forefinger working towards the little finger and each one is an improvement on the last.. a learning experience in pictures.

I’ve used P2 Color Victim in Electric underneath so you can see the full ‘spotted’ effect, but actually looking at other nail blogger’s swatches, I think a good metallic or even a deep black-ish red would also look amazing. There is a very subtle but intriguing result to be had by using a dark base with Spotted on top – I’d like to do this over a navy shimmer.

You only need a very, very thin coat of Spotted over the top of your chosen colour.. you can see I went a bit heavy on the first two nails, finally getting it right by the last nail.

I got mine from Sephora in France where they still have some stock (last checked yesterday).

  1. Well done for getting your hands on this, people are paying silly amounts in the UK to get their hands on a bottle! If I’m honest, I’m not mad over it really, wouldn’t purchase it myself.

  2. I don’t get the hype on this. Doesn’t call to me.

  3. i love this. it reminds me of raw salt on silk painting effect xx

I’m underwhelmed. I think I’ve ‘done’ these effect polishes. Although I have a gold sparkly crackle from OPI that is really pretty and subtle.

  5. I do quite like the look of this, would be good to try it out. It’s a shame there’s not an equivalent in the UK x
