NARS Spring 2015

Despite the fact that it’s all about pale lips, I love the NARS Spring 2015 collection – it’s a beautifully pared back range with natural and nude accents that really work.

The collection itself is called Nude Scene but what makes these nudes a little different is that they’re statement nudes – amplified nudes if you like. I was wary of the gloss – the first is Guyane, a pale milky wash that has pink tones which play with your natural lip colour. It’s one of the most wearable of its type that I’ve ever come across. The second shade is an iridescent white called Vent Sale..not quite as forgiving (and looks a little bit like you forgot to rub in your lip balm properly… ) but I’d use it as a top coat to bring shimmer and tone down other shades.

Next up in the NARS Spring 2015 collection is the eye duo St Paul de Vince – warm, bronzed tones that will be sensational on blue eyes, but also extremely wearable on brown and green. I love this duo and it’s going straight in my keep drawer!

The lipstick in Liguria is a bit of a fail personally – which is a massive shame because Liguria is my favourite part of Italy that I’ve visited so many times! It’s the kind of brown that MAC just did that literally wipes your lips from your face. That said, statement lip wise, and in context with the rest of the collection, it’s a good fit with a play on tan shades.

Finally, NARS Eye Paint in Porto Venere – it looks so pale in the pot, but comes out on skin as a matte pink-toned beige that’s very flattering on the eye. I’d definitely use this as the base for more intense shades, but I’m not sure about using it completely alone.

Nudes undone, with a strong look that’s adaptable – I think there’s something for everyone in the collection. What do you think of NARS Spring 2015? The collection launches on 1st February.

I’ll be giving this a miss. None of it looks to be what I’d consider wearable.

I love the eyeshadow duo and will buy it. But the rest is a no from me.

  3. I think I’ll be saving my pennies for the Dual Intensity palette from Nars instead. It’s already out stateside and it looks so beautiful!

This looks like a bit of a disappointment, at least I would never go for it. Spring going into Summer is one of my favourite times of the year because I can finally break into the bright colors! Oh well, I suppose it’d work for someone!
