Okay, so this is the third shade from the Nails Inc Leather collection, launching in December. I think you can see tht actually it does take on a leathery look – it’s not exact, and I think it would look better in black but I really do love the effect. It feels almost a bit sandy on the nail but doesn’t catch – it’s perfectly smooth.
It’s helpful to put the texture next to the leather effect lid of the polishes and you can see it’s pretty close.
I’ve added some gold studs on (from Hailthenails) not in any particular precision way but just to show how well some embellishments go on top of the leather effect. It’s very fiddly to do..so that’s why there’s only one finger!
I’m really keen on this effect and think I will like it even better in black. I can see my nails literally becoming an accessory for my black lace half gloves.

Isn’t that concrete?
Am I the only person who thinks these look like some scrumpled up clingfilm has been pushed into nearly dry polish?
I’m not a big fan of nail “effects”. Polish is lovely but just a plain glossy finish is best, in my opinion. The rest just seems to be a bit of a case of the emperor’s new clothes.
Not for me.
Definitely not a look I’d go for personally but then I really don’t wear any leather unless it’s on my dolly shoes. I’m not so keen on tan leather either, so not really a winner in my books. I can see the appeal to those who are leather-lovers, though. xx
Marian: unless they stuck concrete formula in a leather bottle?? it says leather and has a leather lid.. but now you say it… but it is close to the lid texture so I went on that.
