I got quite excited when I went for my Shellac manicure last week to discover the Hands Down Ultra (apparently known on the side as Pants Down Ultra) cotton wool thingies. Basically, they are for technicians who don’t want to ruin their own manicure by getting polish remover or serum all over their own nails when doing a manicure or pedi on a client. Hence the plastic backing that you can grip that protects your nails.

Not being a person of order, I can’t count the number of times I’ve attempted a pedicure or just a toe polish and then had to redo a pristine manicure. I nabbed a few to add to my ‘geeky things’ collection.

These look fab! Apparently there’s a way to hold a regular cotton pad to stop your nails getting ruined, but I never manage it and mess up anyway!

This has answered my prayers! I’m so sick of doing my finger nails then releasing I havn’t done my toes and ruining my lovely nails, thank goodness for this post!
I have used the strips it’s really good…
was thinking about this issue the other day. Stupidly spent ages doing my finger nails then did my toes. Ended up having to do my fingers again.
