Marc Jacobs UK Beauty Launch

Marc Jacobs UK Beauty Launch

The worst kept secret in beauty is finally out – Marc Jacobs Beauty is to launch in Harrods in the New Year. Although it’s been possible to buy basic Marc Jacobs Beauty in the MJ store for some time, it’s never really had a splash here. When it launched in the US I bought a few pieces so I have some experience of it already.

However, what’s really interesting is that Marc Jacobs Beauty is part of The Kendo Group, which in turn is part of LVMH, one of the big beauty powerhouses (Givenchy, Guerlain, Dior). The Kendo Group also looks after Kat Von D. It’s not too big a leap to think that if MJ is heading our way, then there is also a possiblity that Kat Von D may follow.

I think I would be more excited about the prospect of Kat Von D than Marc Jacobs, but if you don’t know the Marc Jacobs Beauty brand, I’d sit it alongside Tom Ford but without the bad attitude. Although, that said, I’m apparently not an ‘approved’ Marc Jacobs fragrance blogger so maybe attitude comes hand in hand. Who knows! Anyway, watch this space for updates but I like the idea that a few of our more complacent brands are getting some decent competition to shake them up a bit.

  1. I think you should be wearing “not an approved Marc Jacobs fragarance blogger” as a badge of honour.

      I should, you’re right!

  2. Yay i am so excited for this i always have to order my marc jacobs from sephora as london is quite a trip away. OMG Having Kat Von D coming here too ould be awesome. I will save some pennies for new year

The marketing of Marc Jacobs never appealed to me (and I am not a fan of the fragrance either), but I have to admit that their new foundation (Remarcable) is absolutely amazing. Probably my favorite foundation ever, although it requires more “faff” to apply (well moisturized/primed skin, applying with a flat foundation brush in thin layers, and then a lot of buffing). It makes the skin look flawless, but still quite natural (I’d call it a demi-matte finish). Definitely worth checking out if you don’t mind a little extra work with the application – I actually enjoy it.

I haven’t yet given in to buying anything else, but I think the lipstick is going to be next. The nude lipstick range seemed very nice when I swatched it at Sephora, I wasn’t a fan of the more pigmented, “standard” range.

So exciting, but yes we also need Kat von d, Kate Somerville, Lorac and the entire Tarte line (not just a couple of token titbits on QVC).
Don’t worry the Marc Jacobs fragrances are tacky anyway. The make up on the other hand is lush. X

Agree about Tarte, loads up on Ebay but outrageous prices wanted.

I am interested in MJ some of the foundations have good reviews.

  6. It’ll be nice to see MJ somewhere where I can look at it properly, the few times I’ve seen it in Sephora I’ve not bought anything. The packaging was lovely, but some of the formulations weren’t up to the standard I’d expect for the price

This is the most exciting thing I have heard in a while!!

I wish Sephora would try the UK again! I do order from the US online but they won’t ship perfumes, or nail polish, or quite a few premium brands… Sephora own-brand stuff can be surprisingly good imo.

I know! I miss Sephora. Last time it was here, I was too young to appreciate it properly.

I really like Marc Jacobs eyeliners- they are one of the few that actually stay on my waterline.

I like the idea of getting more and more brand here in UK but I am not a fan of MJ make up at all, I find it pretty boring and not worthy that amount of money.

Not an ‘approved blogger’ for Marc Jacobs perfume? Pah!! Who wants to be an ‘approved anything’ for a generic mass market fragrance brand anyway, Jane….

I need some Kat Von D in my life. I have never understood why some brands do no extend their market reach, MJ being one, Tarte being another one….
