[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] With travel becoming more likely as time goes on, we have to start thinking about carry on allowances again. I keep thinking back to last summer with all our plans cancelled just not having to think about the logistics of travelling anywhere was actually something of a weight off my shoulders. It was disappointing of course and scary in so many ways (not least the empty skies which were so un-nerving if you’re used to living on a flight path or two – in our case, Gatwick and City).  But, getting someone to mind the dog, to keep an eye on the house, to take in the post etc even if it’s just a long weekend are the hidden stresses of going away. I’m always amused (or furious, depending) on Mr BBB’s ability to arrive at the bottom of the stairs entirely unruffled with his packed suitcase all ready to go while I’m still beetling around double checking all the things it takes to go away. So a small help is a kit that someone else has put the thought and effort into. I’ve mentioned Malin + Goetz travel sets before but this time, it’s been revamped into a recycling and compostable marvel that is zero effort for the traveller and all the right sizes.

Malin + Goetz Aluminum Tube Travel Kit

Peppermint shampoo is an absolute favourite in our house – until you’ve had the equivalent experience of a Tebor Extra Strong being poured onto your scalp you haven’t fully known mint :-). The set comprises Grapefruit Face Cleanser, Vitamin E Face Moisturiser, Bergamot Hand & Body Cream, Vitamin B5 Body Moisturiser, Peppermint Shampoo and Cilantro (parsley) Conditioner. It’s completely unisex with aluminium tubes that can be recycled when they’re empty and even the bag it comes in is fully biodegradable.

It would be useful if you could buy these individually to top up your kit – if you’re using face moisturiser at the same rate you’re using shampoo, I don’t think you’re doing it right :-). I expect that will come – there is a duo set for the face which makes me think the others will come.

One of the other benefits of aluminium is that you can squeeze like a toothpaste tube so that you get the very, very last drops out – it’s as low waste as you could hope. When I look beauty packaging, especially foundations, I always think that it’s purposeful that you can’t get the very last drops out easily which makes you repurchase more quickly. With the move to packaging like this only likely to increase there will be more pressure on other areas of beauty to conform to this planet and consumer friendly way of presenting product. Also, if you can get hold of a squeezer (they’re a couple of quid on Amazon if you’re in a rush HERE) it’s likely to be a very good investment. I think this set is great value at £26 HERE, non-affiliate HERE.
