The MAC Dark Desires collection is all about the deep and the dark, but it’s not as overpowering as you might think. The lipstick, in particular, isn’t pigment saturated and I think you could use it to darken down any other colours you might have.

Shown here are Black Knight which has a red and gold pearl (not obvious), and Heavy Petting in a burgundy shade. Black Knight comes out more charcoal than heavy black and they’re both in the Cremesheen formula.

Sorry if this one makes your eyes squint but it does give you an idea of the Erogenous Zone eye gloss – multiple shimmers in this one. I’m kind of obsessed with eye glosses – they’re so hard to wear because they have all the stickiness of a lip gloss; more probably, which feels all kinds of strange on the eyes, but at the same time, there is literally no other eye product that matches this.

From the MAC Dark Desires collection, it’s these little Into The Well Eye Shadows that are the most exciting, the idea being that you can create a well of paste using water in the central dip for tightlining or eye lining, while keeping the outer section dry to use as normal shadow. They’re small and a little fiddly, so I’d probably only use this for tightlining (with a flat edge brush) but this concept is something I haven’t seen before.

MAC Dark Desires is quite a big range; four lipsticks, six wells, three liners, two mascaras, three glosses and two nail polishes – from the range, the eye glosses, the lipsticks, the wells, the eye liners and the polishes are limited edition. This collection launches in December.
