I saw the Velvetines in action during a demo from Warpaint Mag at ProBeauty and just knew I had to get hold of Red Velvet and It’s been my new obsession since I bought it at UMAExpo….in fact I bought 2 straight off and I’m glad I did. x

  4. The bright colours that are so popular at the moment are not just cheerful, they also represent the result of quite a lot of development on the technology of pigments. It is interesting to see that it is relatively new and smaller outfits like Lime Crime that are exploiting them.

  5. Analise Michaels

Lime Crime have never been free of controversy though BBB? They have been proven to be selling on (eye shadow) products that were available through foreign wholesalers, pretended to make all their products themselves once and only last year Lime Crime made a huge marketing race gaffe with their China Doll range – using images of Japanese art. Not even mentioned that the self-proclaimed Doe ‘model of the range’ Deer, has been proven to regularly pop up on blogs anonymously writing comments and reviews from supposed strangers. The pioneer behind it all seems to be shifting a secret imported line from overseas – given the US ban on neon pigments I am curious to how they get around it… Maybe ask SpaceNK why they stopped selling the brand.

No, you are right.. I’d forgotten about it to be honest.. and hadn’t even realised that SpaceNK had stopped stocking it. Now you’ve said it I am remembering the absolute uproar.. eek.

      1. I’d be surprised to find a brand that had never had any controversy surrounding it. It’s not long since the MAC/Rodarte collaboration fuss and the issues just about every major brand has had in the based about the lack of black and Asian faces in their adverts/catered for by their ranges

  6. Wow this product looks super pigmented!

  7. Girls, chill please. It’s just a lipstick ! I happen to own some LC products, very nice pigment

  8. I ordered it, am looking forward to see how good it is. Fun trying a new, for me, brand.

  9. Wow, that IS pigmented and would be exactly what I’d want for a night out. No need to keep reapplying.
