Le Metier de Beaute Peau de Vierge Tinted Complexion Treatment Fluid Review

Ok, so I have given Peau de Vierge Anti-Ageing Complex the seven days it needed to make a difference to my skin – in fact, it’s eight days. Am I miraculously youthful? Nope. But, that said, the product is an absolute joy to use and I’ve really enjoyed trialling it. I can’t see any obvious signs that the Retinol has made a difference, but the very fact that I’m using a Retinol product said to be 20 times more powerful than any other over-the-counter Retinol products and I’ve had not one hint of dryness is I think somewhat miraculous. When I re-read the instructions today, they said not to dive straight in there but to use every other day to start with – somehow I missed that! So, I’ve used it every day. The texture is less fluid than other foundations, but it goes on very smoothly – there is some shimmer (a pet hate of mine), but I’ve noticed that on sunny days it shows up and on cloudy days, it doesn’t, yet somehow does manage to ‘lift’ your complexion in terms of brightness. (Personally, I feel they could just take out the shimmery bits). It falls halfway between a tinted moisturiser and a foundation. At £90, it’s up there in the price stakes, but this is something I would actually buy because of the Retinol delivery system that works so perfectly (and despite not having visible evidence at this early stage, I’ve got to believe it is doing something), and because the coverage is ideal for every day. A tinted treatment fluid does sum up exactly what Peau de Vierge is – it feels light on the skin, there’s no particular scent and it seems to last well on the skin. And, if over time it makes my skin look more youthful and radiant then it will have been £90 well spent.

There is also a correcting stick, which I wasn’t so taken with – it’s a thick stick formula that does give good coverage but it’s unexeptional and a little too thick.
