Lancome Matte Shakers

Lancome Matte Shakers

I know, they look so lovely, don’t they?  I loved the original Shakers – they were bi-phasic lip oils and on that basis my expectation wasn’t for a huge level of pigment; I think they came out last summer so I had them down as good beach bag, fun products. These are a little different – you look like you’re getting a huge amount of pigment (see swatch) but the sponge applicator acts as a diffuser, so you get far less than you’re expecting on the lip for a matte product and end up with a stain rather than a colour lay down. I think I don’t get the point of a matte tint. Plus, they’re supposed to be weightless or ‘second skin’ and I can feel a film on my lips – it’s light, but definitely there.

Lancome Matte Shakers

There are so many great matte products out there – I’m not sure these fit into any particular category really. They still have all of the fun element – they look great. They just seem to fall between the cracks of being useful and purposeful.

The shades in the swatch are: Yummy Pink, Kiss Me Cherie, Magic Orange and Pink Power. You won’t get keep this level of colour unless you don’t speak, eat or breathe. They’re £19.50 HERE.

  1. Dear Lippy World — please please may we go back to shiny/glossy? Please … ? My lips would just love it as they’re very thin and addicted to shine.

      AGREED!!

  2. Such a shame, I was hoping for a more pigmented version. Still I think these will be better for me than the original ones, even if it is just for the packaging fun.

I’ve been waiting for your review. My trusted source. I do like the fun factor of these but matte lippies always feel drying on my lips. Hmm, decisions

I’m sure I had a comment from someone saying that theirs lasted really well… I just think there are a lot of mattes performing better right now – but you’re right, they’re cute!

I have the Yummy pink. It lasts the whole day, even difficult to wash even with an oil. And the color is very bright and strong. I love it! The only downside is that they have no perfume.
