Which ever way you look at it, the Lancome L’Absolu Velours are gorgeous! Following the lip velvet trend, they dry to a matte finish – but it’s not an absolute matte so more forgiving on the lip.

I have three swatches which gives a good idea of performance – loving the orange shade – Velours de Etincelle. The other shades above are Velours de Violine and Velours de Petale. They’re certainly quite stainy on the lip so even when the initial coverage has gone, you’ll be left with some colour. There’s definitely a bit more quality to these than other ‘velvets’ around – they’re a gentle formula that doesn’t feel sticky or heavy – in fact, the opposite – almost a water feeling.
They’re £20 each HERE.

This sound lovely – I am a serious sucker for a matte lip so these have gone STRAIGHT on the Christmas list!

The colours look gorgeous 🙂 unlike you I don’t like the orange shade. I think colours like this one are just not for me. The Velours de Petale is just perfect for me. I’m wondering how the other shades will look like.
I don’t own any Matte lip colours at all. I always like the look of them but worry they’d be too drying.
These look really pretty, I like the pink shade.

Mattes do show every single flaw on your lip so they need to be in great condition to make it work x
