Now here’s a subject I never thought I’d be writing about – the Katy Perry perfume launch. Without having smelled Purr (described as a fresh citrus accord of peach nectar and forbidden apple (sighs), with jasmine blossom, pink freesia, vanilla orchid and sandalwood) I can’t give even the smallest indication of whether it shapes up or not. It’s described on the release as ‘distinctive’ which always is a worry, but I really do LOVE the bottle. I can see it appealing to a whole range of women (other than cat-lovers and teens!) and it is something completely different. It reminds me of the old Avon collectable fragrance bottles that now go for an absolute bomb on Ebay.

If you think you’ll find it purrfect too, Katy is doing a personal appearance at Selfridges (Oxford Street) on 12th November (tbc) and signing bottles.
