John Frieda Colour Refreshing Gloss

Just when I’d returned to Olia, JF comes up with this genius idea that’s currently US/Canda only – or at least, not the UK. John Frieda Colour Refreshing Gloss should be used after colouring (about a week after) to keep and maintain your hair colour and hopefully cut down on salon visits. It’s kind of for when your hair goes a bit ‘meh’ – if you colour your hair, you’ll know exactly what I mean and it’s a rev up to bring back the vibrancy. So, it won’t re-colour your hair but it will give it a boost up and some shine. Think of it as a hair supplement that you only need to deal with weekly.

To use, it’s a doddle.. work it through the hair for 3 minutes and wash off. I’ve checked blogger reviews and they’re pretty much agreed that it certainly boosts up the shine and gives a mild oomph to the colour. Six shades cover off 18 hair shade vairants. I am dying to try these.. hurry up John Frieda!

  1. didn’t he have these out years ago in Blonde, Brunette, and Red?

  2. These sound really good, I don’t have coloured hair at the moment, but good to know for the future!

  3. Hmmm…interesting. I have seen this but was not yet convinced of trying it out. Now I guess is the time to try it out.

  4. These are definitely a smart idea! I dye my hair red and it’s so sad how meh it looks after a few washes. I use the Revlon Professional color refresher and it is exactly the same thing! leave in 3 minutes (I do 10-15 minutes in the sauna after sport) and your color is back! they have so many shades!!! I believe it’s on Beauty Bay if you want to try it!

These used to be called ‘Color Glaze’ in 2006. Superdrug had them on clearance last year, so guess it has just been revamped?

Someone tweeted me saying they thought they might be the old glazes and as soon as they said glaze I recognised what it was.. hmm.. interesting!

I used to use the colour glaze and I loved it, I was gutted when they stopped selling them and can’t wait for these to hit the uk

I used these years ago in the US and my hair stylist told me the “glossing” ingredient was the same they use to wax floors with (much the same as the Pantene line of products). It was interfering with color taking in my hair, so heed warning! Xx
