Jo Malone Handwash

I’m a big fan of fragranced handwash – when you take it to the Jo Malone Handwash level, it’s a luxury buy, but I wash my hands many times more than I’d be prepared to top up on perfume, say, and each time, if it’s a beautiful smell, it’s just such a pleasure. I think sometimes when we’re bogged down with what lipstick shade to get or what night cream might really work or even pondering whether you should be double-cleansing or not, a handwash is a very basic, simple thing – it might as well be uncomplicatedly lovely.

All these three Jo Malone fragrances I adore – and they’re not the new fragrances (there are plenty to choose from, including Pomegranate Noir), they’re from back in the day. I consider Amber & Lavendar to be more manly – it’s really the scent of a gentleman to my mind. You could say that the twist of lavendar makes it unisex but to me the emphasis is more on traditional man-fragrance. Orange Blossom – the smell of this is the heart of the Jo Malone brand – it’s the one that got me, hook, line and sinker, and I’ve loved it ever since. Nectarine Blossom & Honey is in a similar vein, I’d say, but lighter and fresher. Ether way, any of them will pep up your day – many times in most cases. Extracting the pleasure from beauty – just the pure joy of the use – sometimes seems at the very bottom of the agenda. Jo Malone Handwash brings it right to the top. Prices for a little bottle start at £14 rising to £28 HERE.
