If you love the Jo Loves fragrances, you can expect something very different this time. Strictly speaking, Jo Loves Shards of Cedar is very much a male scent. It’s highly aromatic – from the name you can guess that it has a herbal theme and although I’m not good at picking out individual herbs (unless it’s something very obvious like mint) the overall impression is of a classic male cologne without the whack of alcohol. Individual notes include Vetiver, Bergamot, Mint, Nutmeg, Lavender and Patchouli.
Jo says that she is reminded of the moment when a man walks past wearing a beautiful cologne and it’s so intoxicating it makes you stop and turn your head. That’s the kind of olfactory head rush that doesn’t happen often enough in my view! My favourite Jo Loves fragrance is Pomelo – I haven’t deviated from that since the day I smelled it, but you know.. if Shards is going to put the sexy into passing strangers, maybe it’s time to reassess ;-).
