[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] I very distinctly remember the original launch of this fragrance (I’m sure there was a candle, too) some years ago in a very clean, white penthouse suite somewhere (so, not that distinctly then since I can’t remember where – Mayfair I think). It’s a very evocative perfume – really effortlessly mood shifting if you love tropical, citrus scents.

I find mango can be a bit sickly but not in this juicy mix because it’s cut so well by the Kaffir lime with a sharpness that prevents it being cloying. There are herbacious notes of thyme, mint and vetiver and a dash of black pepper (which I can’t smell at all). Let’s just say if this was presented as a cocktail, you’d take one sniff and down the lot in one.

There’s something very succulent about the blend – it somehow sparks the taste senses as well as the olfactory ones – pretty much all I want now is a slice of mango drenched in lime juice – and it seems to be a perfect summer partner because it is so vibrant and – weird thing to say about a perfume, but – glowing. I completely love it. I’m sending you to Cult Beauty for this one because they have free postage (and samples) HERE, non affiliate HERE. 50ml is £70 and I can’t imagine it bringing anything other than joy.

Wow, this sounds really fabulous. I used to buy Penhaligon’s sharp Lime cologne, and citrus is my scent family always. Not a fan of fruitiness, but you’ve described this so well I feel I understand the mixture. Mmm.
Thanks Cal xx
I think the lime over-rides the mango but if you don’t like the fruity smell of mango it’s probably not for you because that is definitely an element.
Gotcha, thanks. (I wish we had a decanting/paid sampling arrangement in GB, such as one reads about in the States!)
