Hello Klean Cool Down Anti-Buildup Body Lotion Review

[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] I have really been looking forward to trying the Hello Klean Cool Down Anti-Build Up Body Lotion because it’s not really like anything I’ve tried before. I tend to avoid heavy body moisturisers during the summer when it’s hot because I don’t like the feeling of my skin being suffocated. I don’t know if it’s just me but a body balm or lotion in summer seems to make my skin sweat double the amount and it’s all trapped underneath the layer of product. It makes my skin prickle.

It’s one of the reasons that I’d rather take a skin supplement than coat myself all hot and bothered although I must admit I’ve got out of the habit of taking them so my dry skin is my own fault. I don’t have a good reason for stopping either – I just did. So, back to Hello Klean Cool Down Anti-Build Up Body Lotion. It’s curious in that it’s thick and matte – one of the sensory pleasures of a body balm is the glossiness and sheen it gives both on the skin and in the pot. Hello Klean’s take is that hard water turns the skin’s natural oils waxy which traps impurities. As we live in a very hard water area, and as a very similar effect is apparent with my hair, this rings true, but where I think you’re going to like this more is receiving cooling moisture without the under-sweat.

It’s not as cooling as I was expecting it to be (I hyped it up in my head) but you can keep it in the fridge and then you will (obviously) get more of a chill thrill when you use it. It applies very nicely to the skin – the matte appearance isn’t relevant to how it feels – it’s like an oil free moisturizer, I suppose – and it feels soothing on the skin. There’s a very light fragrance which is citrus-ish and pleasing but mostly what I like about this strange body product that looks like wall paper glue is that it also has a dash of AHA which means the more you use it, the softer your skin will look and feel and you don’t have to endure hot and sticky skin to get there. It’s £18 for 300ml HERE but there are smaller versions you can try if you prefer.
