Oh, hey! This is one good looking lipstick! It’s the new Givenchy Rouge Interdit Vinyl and if you look carefully, you’ll see that each case has a sliver of Givenchy embossed metallic ribbon enclosed inside it. These are like little works of art. I think we are very soon to see a cushion foundation from Givenchy.
There are fifteen shades of Givenchy Rouge Interdit Vinyl for 2016; each one contains black rose oil and silicone resin to give the formula a high shine. They’re not quite gloss, but definitely give a very smooth looking, sheeny lip.
As you can tell, it’s pretty cold in my kitchen hence the goosebumps – argh – but you can get a good idea of some of the 15 shades. They actually feel rather balmy on the lip – a slightly sweet flavour to them – but they last longer than any creamy lipsticks I can think of. I like this combination of balmy feel and lipstick staying power.
The colours aren’t massively pigmented; enough to give the lips colour but without a deep saturation and that’s always a winner if you have creased lips like mine. Rather than hug itself into every crevice, this lipstick glides over those creases but still gives a uniform colour. The shades I have (from bottom to top) are: Rose Tentateur, Rose Sulfureaux, Violine Troublant (love this name.. it just sounds like all the best kinds of wicked), Orange Magnetique, Rose Sulfureaux (again! yes, I didn’t notice I had two of the same) and Beige Innocent.
I don’t currently have a launch date for these – I imagine it will be January but I’ll update when I know.
