Givenchy Spring 2013: Hotel Prive

Look away now if this is too early for you, but Givenchy’s spring offering is rather beautiful.

It’s colour packed – a fresh, milky pink theme and a move away from the prism (thank god) is symbolic of a change of direction for the brand. It’s actually quite exciting to see an evolution like this – it doesn’t happen very often – brands rarely move away from their cornerstone pieces. The light isn’t the best.. in particular I think the palette has suffered a bit because it is much fresher and brighter in the ‘flesh’.

Ecrin Prive Palette: Matte and Shimmer

I’m in love straight away with the buff shade.

Vernis Please! In Private Taupe and Private Grey

Gloss Interdit in Private Rose and Private Fuchsia

Private Fuchsia swatched

There is a prism blush sneaking into the collection along with Mister Mat, a mattifying primer and two mascaras plus a beige lipstick for a natural look.

I hope they sort out their fragrance offering too. Ysatis doesn’t smell like it used to and I wish they’d put L’interdit back on general release at a more resonable price.

  2. Totally my kind of colours. Love!
