Okay, well the world’s most beautiful bronzer just landed on my desk! Givenchy Croisiere for Summer 2014 Poudre Terre Exotique is simply the most gorgeous piece of beauty product I have seen for a very, very long time. Designed by Nicolas Degennes (Makeup and Colour Artistic Director for Givenchy), it’s deeply intricate with more of a sheen than sparkle. I cannot see how I can ever use this!
This picture is to give you an idea of the outer packaging – it’s a lacquer look with golden ‘chain’ around the edges, and so glossy that it was nearly impossible to photograph (hence the odd angle) without my face and camera reflecting in the picture (nobody wants that!).
Once you start to see the other players in the Givenchy Croisiere Summer 2014 collection, it all adds up to its original inspiration; summer, relaxation and heat. The Phenomen’Eyes offering is Turquoise Obsession and it’s vivid. If you don’t think you can carry it off, try wearing black mascara and then tipping the ends with this vibrant shade or going bottom lash only with it.
There is orange lipstick and then there is THIS orange lipstick! The colour is incredibly pure – a real, solid orange that you can easily imagine paired with a light sprinkling of summer tan and some huge Jackie O shades (although start with the whitening toothpaste now because oranges can definitely give your teeth a cast of yellow). Our orange friend is called Fruit Defendu and the other shade is Acajou Precieux.
What you can also see in the swatch picture is a Limited Edition Ombre Couture in Corail Tentation – if you’ve got blue eyes, don’t hesitate to grab one of these – it’s the kind of peachy shade that will make them look intense and bluer.
The Givenchy Croisiere Summer 2014 range launches in April. It can’t come quickly enough. Oh, and price points – Poudre Terre Exotique is £39, Le Rouge are £25 each, Ombre Couture is £18 and Phenomen’Eyes is £23. I was genuinely expecting the bronzer to come in at around the £50 mark.
