[unpaid/affiliate] When Uniqlo first brought out these cross-body, half-moon bags, I knew they’d be popular but not to the extent they have been. They’re probably solely responsible for keeping Uniqlo afloat right now and I discovered their genius when one of my friends arrived for dinner and pulled an entire bottle of wine out of her Uniqlo bag – it was like watching a magic trick! I should say that long bottles peek out a bit but if you get the ones with the rounded bodies they completely disappear. I have three of the smaller size bags and one of the larger size ones and Dora fits perfectly into the larger one. When we first got her, she fitted into the small one! So, there is plenty of half-moon bag newness, not least as part of a Marimekko collaboration. If you don’t have one, you can never know how handy they are :-).

The brand new crochet bag is in the smaller size but is the same price as the larger bags – personally, I’d be adding a pineapple or sunshine (or strawberry) fabric badge (and I don’t get the needle and thread out very often!). There aren’t many bags that you can take with equal comfort to the supermarket and the beach. It’s £24.90 HERE.

These are a couple of the Marimekko bags – there are four styles in total but these two are the most ‘Marimekko-ish’ and they’re £14.90 each HERE. Hello holiday! You’ll easily fit your bikini, sunglasses and sunscreen in this, despite its size, and probably a bonk buster beach book too.

If you’re a fan of a bucket hat there are three colours in the crochet style shown above – natural, beige and black. They’re £24.90 HERE.

If you want a brighter bucket, Uniqlo x Marimekko has three styles HERE for £19.90 each.

If you’re keeping your face completely covered in the sun, Uniqlo has some very Japanese style wide brims (above) in grey or natural. They have the drawstring underneath which not many wide brims in this country do but almost all do in Japan so you can go about your business without the hat falling off. They’re £24.90 HERE.

And, finally, with nothing whatsoever to do with bags or hats, Uniqlo’s baby range is carrying a tiny selection of Miffy clothing. This falls right into the category of clothes I wish had been around when my kids were babies, but all I can say is find a baby, any baby because how.utterly.lovely! The vests are £5.90 HERE.
