Face Lace Bracelets

So, here’s something that BBB readers can really help with. I often feature Face Lace because it’s so dramatic and exciting. But, it’s a limited market – I certainly don’t have the nerve to wear an actual mask like the one below.. but I love the idea of it.

Facelace

So, Phyllis Cohen, who makes Face Lace has made some sets of bracelets and rings – much more wearable and hugely on trend, given the popularity of gold foil temporary tattoos. The Face Lace bracelets are next generation temporary tattoos. They feel like very thin leather (but aren’t) and have holographic elements that catch the light extraordinarily, and they literally stick to your skin (painlessly, I might add). You can, if you’re careful, use them more than once.

So, the Face Lace bracelets aren’t in general production yet… but I’m asking you, should they be? Face Lace is a small brand, but on the edge of something very special I think. I always say view temporary tattoos as temporary jewellery – Face Lace bracelets really are that – temporary jewellery. As consumers, you’re the experts here on whether you’d buy into this cutting edge trend, so please let me know!

They look nice but I don’t think I’d bother as people don’t seem to notice what I have on my wrists or forearms unless I physically go oi look at my temporary tattoo/new bracelet etc.

  2. Much prefer the look of these to some of the foil ones I’ve seen that just remind me of temporary tattoos you used to get as kids in the little boxes of candy sticks! I’ve sported a Spiderman or two on my face in my single digit years that’s for sure!

Much prefer the fabric look of these ones!

I really like the looks of these. They look so pretty with holographic elements. They would be great for events, nights out or festivals. I would definitely like to try these out.

  4. I think it is a really nice idea. As you say, golden foil temporary tattoos are all the rage right now!

  5. I imagine they’d go down well with the younger demographic – especially things like arm bands and chokers (I believe that 90s look is back in). I can see them being the kind of things you’d wear for festivals or nights out dancing, and even on holiday – light and easy to pack, and not expensive to lose, unlike real jewellery.

  6. I think they are great and I would wear them the bracelet. I had no idea the very talented Phyllis Cohen was behind Face lace, I have always admired her body painting work and worked with her many many years ago on a Tina Turner pop promo (I was very impressed as she was making her own lipstick which Tina was wearing ). I hope she does well with her clever Face lace.

They’ll be very appealing to all ages im sure, i have a 13 year old daughter i know would purchase these, also ive a handful of friends all different ages that most definitely would go out and buy. I love the idea x

  8. Well, my first thought was, Finally a Face Lace I could wear! I, too, love the idea of the original masks, but aside from any courage issues, I wear glasses, which makes a facial decoration like that exceedingly awkward to wear. Jewellery versions would be awesome.

I agree with the other comments that there’s a festival, etc., market for these, and this summer would probably be the most advantageous time to launch, what with the popularity of the temp tattoos and the resurgence of 90s fashion in general.

I have real tattoos and love these. There is something faintly fetishistic about them which I like. I think there’s a place for more fantastical makeup and these fit within that category for me. I’d definitely use the bracelets and rings. Reminds me a little of mehendi too.

  10. As someone with smaller than average wrists I love this idea as most regular bracelets do not fit me.

I would definitely wear these, I love metallic tattoos but find they don’t last long, so these sound perfect!
