Oh! I couldn’t love this palette more – it’s the Batik Sun Palette from the new Bronze Goddess 2013 collection that launches in May 2013.
I cannot wait to start wearing the orange shade. It’s far more vibrant in real life than it looks on the swatch.. I wish it had been sunny while I was taking the pictures. The collection is inspired by the Caribbean and if you take that inspiration idea – soft, sandy beaches, shimmering water, the heat of the sun and tropical colours – it’s bang on. The palette is £35.
The Pure Color Liquid Liner Duo in Black Sands has a very black black and a bronze-gold shade – they’re stayers too, because I had a bit of a job getting them off after swatching.
The Pure Color Liquid Liner is £21. To accompany the palette and liner there is also a Sumptuous Extreme Waterproof Mascara in Extreme Black, £22.
While I love the concept of these rollerball glosses, in reality, they’re not working quite as well as you’d hope. They’re very strongly flavoured in Guava Lychee or Fruit Passion (and actually do taste rather lovely) but there is so little pigment that you can barely pick up any hint of colour once it’s on the lip. In fact, they looked virtually clear in swatching which is why I didn’t put a swatch pic up. However, if you’re after some very glossy gloss with a great taste, and don’t mind that there is little or no colour, I’d challenge you to find a better flavoured pair. They’re £17 each.
Two Pure Color Long Lasting Lipsticks in Fuchsia Fever (above) and Solar Crush (coming soon) are loud and proud.. gorgeous pigments that adds to the vibrancy of the collection. They’re limited edition shades and will cost £ 19.50 each.
Finally – I’m waiting for a couple of other bits to swatch; the Nail Lacquer in Hot Spell notably – the Illuminating Powder Gelee in Heat Wave is getting a post all of its own because it’s so lovely!
